Overview
A digital brochure and a client engagement tool
Razz Hair Studio is a trendy hair salon that needed a modern website to reflect its edgy yet professional vibe. The project involved creating an online presence from the ground up, covering design and development, to showcase the salon’s services and creative style.
The website serves as both a digital brochure and a client engagement tool, letting visitors view the salon’s work and meet the stylists.
The challenge
Bold and creative, without losing clarity
The main challenge was translating Razz’s edgy-yet-professional identity into a digital experience. The salon’s vibe, creative, bold and welcoming, had to come through in the colour, imagery and typography, while staying clear and easy to use, especially on mobile.
Translate an edgy-yet-professional brand into a digital experience.
Look stylish and cutting-edge for a fashionable, tech-savvy clientele.
Stay highly usable and informative, without sacrificing clarity.
Work beautifully on phones, where most visitors arrive from social and Google.
Process
From research to a responsive build
Research
Studied boutique salon websites and beauty-industry UX trends, noting common patterns like Instagram feeds and before-and-after sliders, and gathered the owner’s brand vision.
Branding & wireframing
Built on the existing logo and edgy palette of black and silver with a pop of vibrant colour. Wireframed Home, Services and a Gallery grid organised by style, with just two or three menu items.
UI design
High-fidelity Figma mock-ups with an autoplay video of the salon behind the tagline, a stylish script for headings, a clean sans-serif for body text, and bright accents inspired by hair dye.
Development & testing
Built on WordPress with custom CSS beyond the base theme, fully responsive galleries that work on mobile, and compressed images to keep the media-heavy pages fast.
Results
A site that stands out in the local market
Captured the salon’s unique energy, with users praising the site’s look and feel.
New clients said the portfolio of styles helped convince them to book.
The owner reported improved operational efficiency.
